In this talk I will present my research towards supporting infrastructure-grade Information Technology. I will discuss current work on three somewhat related areas: recovery support, performance tradeoff shifts, and privacy in upcoming location-aware services. For each area I will outline the state of the art, present challenges, and discuss my current approach.
